KIDZ FOR A CURE 2009
In the two years of the event run by children at the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara Kidz for a Cure has raised over $6,000.
The Newcats
The band, The Newcats, whose members range from 8 to 15 years old, entertained the crowd with their versions of some great hits (805-968-2773)
Larry Crandell Larry Crandell amused the crowd with his silver tongue and helped raise more funds for pediatric cancer research.
Mayor Marty Blum
Santa Barbara Mayor, Marty Blum, visited the children selling their wares posed with Kidz for a Cure founder, Madison.
Cookie the Clown (a.k.a. Dolores Deyer) spent the morning juggling, making balloon animals and putting smiles on everyone's faces before driving back home in her miniature circus car.
Taylor Brayden Massage
Taylor Brayden offered massages for a dollar a minute, donating all of her proceeds to Kidz for a Cure.
Face Painting
Children had their faces painted before folding paper cranes and entering the t-shirt design contest.
Toy sales
Kids from all across the area brought their gently-used toys and sold them at the city's largest kid-run rummage sale, all to raise funds to help fight cancer for other sick children.
Cupcakes for Cancer Blake Colvin, the 14-year old founder of Cupcakes for Cancer sold her handmade cupcakes to raise funds for children with cancer.
